Dr. Brown discusses the bullying of conservative believers with Ben Shapiro (Author of Bullies: How the Left’s Culture of Fear and Intimidation Silences Americans), Sid Cordle (calling for Christians in England to publicly protest same-sex “marriage”), and Warren Smith (World Magazine, on pressure on the Boy Scouts to admit gay scout leaders). Listen live here 2-4 pm EST, and call into the show at  (866) 348 7884  with your questions and comments.

    Hour 1:

Dr. Brown’s Bottom Line: It’s only appropriate that I quote from Winston Churchill once more, “Never give in, never, never, never, in nothing great or small, large or petty, never give in except to your convictions of honor and good sense!”

    Hour 2:

Dr. Brown’s Bottom Line: We do what’s right because it is right.  We honor God because He is God.  We stand for truth because it is true.  Public opinion polls do not affect us in the least!

I just heard the part where you said not to think for a second that we can hold up a long-term wall against polygamy once we have same-sex marriage. Same-sex marriage has been legal here in Canada since 2005 with the Civil Marriage Act. Polygamy DID actually follow behind, but the polygamy ban was challenged primarily by fundamentalist Mormons from a commune-style compound and upheld. Here’s how it worked out for us so far:

New York Times article with a link to the decision:

      http://www.nytimes.com/2011/11/24/world/americas/british-columbia-court-upholds-canadas-polygamy-ban.html?_r=0

HuffPost article explaining the justification for upholding the ban:

      http://www.huffingtonpost.ca/2011/11/23/canada-polygamy-ban-bc-supreme-court_n_1109416.html

      GTA polygamy:

You would certainly be able to point to us as your best example if the wall doesn’t stay up for the long term, but I really hope it does. Same-sex marriage is at least better than same-sex marriage AND polygamy.

Yes, David, I was thinking of Canada when I spoke about this situation, and yes, I do hope that the wall can stay up there, but already in America, our TV shows celebrate polygamy, while in England, you have the large and growing Muslim population.

Yes, it seems that the Muslim population was waiting for the ban to lift, but they figured their best bet was to let the FLDS be the face of the movement based on religious freedom (Their beliefs include a particular need for polygamy). However, I think it kind of backfired with the commune being separate from society, invoking the images of a cult and FLDS reminding people of Warren Jeffs. Reading the HuffPo article, I thought that if a growing, vocal Muslim population next door had been the voice to lift the ban, it might have been more difficult to apply those justifications for upholding the ban. Let’s see how it works out for the UK…

It’s my hope and prayer that the Boy Scouts of America hold the line on this one. May they rally the troops on this and speak up together against the sins of the politicians as well as the sins of some church elders.

I think this should be an exciting time to be both a Boy Scout as well as a Scout leader.

Can you imagine a troop of Scouts meeting at state Capital buildings to meet with legislators and governors to tell them about the meaning of such things as brave, clean, and reverent, and how many have been falling so far short of such things, giving into the demands of supporters of the gay agenda in the political field?

As I wait for the Super Bowl, I heard about a NFL player who had said something that was called “anti-gay” and so after some “counselling”,
they say he will be “running” now for gay and lesbian organizations, making some donations to their “cause”.

I’m sure there’s a story behind all that.
