Hello Dr Brown and the Line of Fire crew

Have you heard the “news” from the UK about a big name pastor who is announcing that he’s all for homosexuals doing what they want as long as it’s a “loving and faithful relationship”?

It’s not news to me as it’s the same preacher/writer/media personality who claimed that Jesus didn’t die for our sins because that would be “cosmic child abuse”. I sort of felt that there would be a further slide into false preaching from this man, so I’m not surprised really.

My husband and I were discussing this and felt that he was being given a platform (in a Xian mag and on a national Xian radio station) because he is seen as someone who does a lot for charity, he’s been on secular TV and is personable, handsome etc. He’s a pleasant and down-to-earth media personality, so he’s being given a truck-load of publicity today.

It’s as if you get a free ride because you look good on TV…

When you catch up with this story from across the pond, you might like to comment on the responsibility of preacher, teachers and leaders.

PS I was immediately reminded of Charles Templeton. He had everything going for him, he was seen as the best preacher of his generation … and then…
